How FloristFacts Is Funded

Who pays for this platform's research and operations, and the sources of money it refuses, stated plainly.

FloristFacts is an editorial resource on professional floristry. It explains the work as it actually exists: the labor, costs, perishability, logistics, and standards behind professional flowers, and what a florist is and is not responsible for. Its essays and guides help consumers make informed decisions and clear up common misconceptions about the work. A reader has every right to ask who funds that, because the answer determines whether it can be trusted.

FloristFacts is founder-funded and editorially independent. Its research and operating costs are carried by its founder, James Dempsey AIFD, CFD, who has spent more than forty years in the floral industry across retail, wholesale, event design, multi-location management, and corporate category management. He is a practicing professional florist. That is the platform's one standing conflict of interest, and it is disclosed here rather than buried, because a reader who knows it can weigh the platform's work accordingly.

The Money the Platform Refuses

Founder funding is a deliberate choice. It is what allows FloristFacts to refuse every source of money that would compromise what it publishes. The platform does not accept:

  • Advertising or sponsored content of any kind.
  • Payment from any florist for coverage, listing, ranking, or visibility.
  • Fees from wire services, order gatherers, wholesalers, or floral technology companies.
  • Funding from trade associations or industry vendors.
  • Affiliate commissions on any florist or floral purchase.

FloristFacts does not rank florists, does not sell a directory, and does not operate a review platform. No business appears on this site because it paid to appear, and none is left out because it declined to. The platform's judgments about what professional floristry involves are made without regard to anyone's ability to fund them.

Why the Refusal Matters

Some of these refusals cost the platform money it could otherwise raise easily. That is the point. An editorial resource is only worth reading if its independence is real, and independence that can be purchased is not independence. The single commitment that governs everything above is simple enough to state in one line.

No florist can pay for placement.
